Overview of Mining Operations
Liddell Colliery has development consent to produce up to 8 million tonnes of run-of-mine (ROM) coal per annum and during the 2007 calendar year produced 4.7 million tonnes of ROM coal. Product coal, both semi-soft and thermal, is transported to the Port of Newcastle for sale into the export market, with a small quantity of mine tailings being reprocessed and trucked to local Power Stations.
