Environmental Management
Environmental Monitoring System
As required by consent conditions, Liddell Coal operates a wide-ranging environmental monitoring network across the site. Specific details of the network, including monitoring locations, methods and frequency, regulatory criteria and interpretation and monitoring data are provided in approved Environmental Management Plans and strategies.
The network allows for monitoring of the following environmental parameters:
• Noise Levels
• Air Quality
• Blasting Impacts
• Meteorological Conditions
• Surface Water and Groundwater Quality
• Flora and Fauna
Monthly environmental monitoring reports are assessed on a regular basis to ensure the operation maintains high levels of environmental performance. The sites environmental monitoring results will be updated on the Liddell Coal Website on at least a quarterly basis.
