Overview of Liddell Coal
Handling and Preparation Plant

The current Coal Handling and Preparation Plant has a maximum feed capacity of 4.5 Mtpa of ROM coal and produces semi-soft coking coal and thermal product coal, which are placed separately on the product coal stockpile.

By mid-2008, Liddell will have installed a new processing section in the CHPP and perform minor upgrades to the ROM receival and product coal facilities, enabling capacity to increase to up to 8 Mtpa.

Up to 1.5 Mtpa of ROM coal can be received or delivered from, or to, the nearby Cumnock No.1 Colliery for washing and processing when spare capacity is available at either operation. This coal is trucked via a public and/or private section of Pikes Gully Road.
